Amazon kündigt heute in der neuen Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH die Schaffung von mehr als 70 Stellen für Software-Entwickler an. In dieser neuen Einrichtung sollen am Standort Berlin und Dresden zukunftsweisende Technologien für Amazon entwickelt werden. Die Teams sind für die Entwicklung von Technologien für das Cloud-Geschäft von Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), zuständig, einschließlich Hypervisoren, Betriebssystemen, Management-Tools und weiteren Anwendungen wie selbstlernende Technologien, die auf allen Amazon-Plattformen eingesetzt werden sollen.
Im Rahmen des Amazons Entwicklungscenters Deutschland werden sowohl in Berlin als auch in Dresden innerhalb der nächsten zwölf Monate neue Stellen geschaffen. Dies gehört zur Strategie von Amazon, europäische Unternehmen beim Wechsel in die Cloud zu unterstützen. Deutsche Firmen, die die Cloud von Amazon Web Services nutzen, haben bereits heute unter anderem Account Manager, Solutions-Architekten und technische Support-Ingenieure als Ansprechpartner bei Amazon. Mit dem neuen Entwicklungscenter kommen Software-Entwickler dazu, die die Grundsteine für die nächste Generation von Cloud Computing mitentwickeln werden.

Amazon hat bereits Niederlassungen in Berlin und Sachsen: Kundencenter, Fulfilment Center und seit der Übernahme von Peritor 2012 auch ein Amazon Web Services Entwicklungsteam. Durch das Amazon Development Center Germany entstehen weitere Stellen für hochqualifizierte Arbeitnehmer in dieser Region.
